Delaware News Journal ran another article in the series exposing patient abuse at the Delaware Psychiatric Center (DPC), entitled, “ DPC patient's death unreported to two agencies.” The article reported that DPC officials did not report a patient's death, which occurred last Sunday to at least two agencies currently examining patient care issues at the hospital. Rita Landgraf, co-chair of the Governor’s Task Force investigation DPC, and patient advocates say the secrecy surrounding the patient's death highlights the need for an independent, formalized review of every death within the facility. The article concludes that meanwhile the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division is just beginning its investigation of patient care at the state hospital.
